10 DIY Bookmarks, Journals and Pencil Cases

Reading, writing, and creating, 10 DIY Bookmarks, Journals and Pencil Cases to make for gifts, for Mom and Teachers. Easy to make, let’s get started with a brand new fun project from Creatively Beth!

What better way to get your kiddos interested and excited in reading than a FUN set of Minion Bookmarks? Kunin® Classic™ Felt comes is a wide variety of colors, so you can match the Minions colors perfectly. Add a name to create the perfect place card for a Minion birthday party with the kiddos. The possibilities are endless with these cuties!

Time:  30 Minutes

Skill Level:  Beginner

YOU WILL NEED:

STEP ONE

Download, print and cut out the MINIONS BOOKMARK PATTERNS. Use the colors of Kunin® Classic™ Felt craft cuts as outlined above or create a bookmark with your own style and color palette. A fun family activity to create in just about 30 minutes with limited supplies.

STEP TWO

Trace patterns onto Kunin® Classic™ Felt craft cuts with a permanent marker as follows: Minnion on Yellow, overalls and pocket on Brilliant Blue, goggles on Silver, boots and goggle strap on Black. If creating with older kiddos you can attach patterns to Kunin® Classic™ Felt craft cuts with straight pins.

STEP THREE

Carefully cut out all shapes with scissors, cutting inside the traced lines, so you have a clean finished project. Sharp, pointy detail scissors work the best when cutting out smaller shapes. Make the overalls as long or as short as you like to give your Minions their own personality.

STEP FOUR

Lay the cut-out patterns on your work surface. Attach the Brilliant Blue felt overalls and the Black felt boots to the Minion body using E6000 Fabri-Fuse liquid fabric glue.

STEP FIVE

To create the goggles, glue the Silver felt eye pieces onto the Black felt straps, and then the wiggle eyes. Attach the completed goggles onto the Minion with Fabri-Fuse liquid fabric glue. Some Minions have two eyes and some have one eye.

STEP SIX

Cut various lengths of black twine to create the Minion’s hair. Attach to the top center of the Minion’s head with a small amount of Fabri-Fuse liquid fabric glue. Give your Minions some individuality.

STEP SEVEN

To complete the Minion Bookmarks, add the details. Using a dimensional fabric paint pen, add the mouths, outline the overalls, and add the buttons. Draw the “G” logo onto the bib of the overalls. Set aside to allow glue and paint to dry.

I hope you will use my Minions Bookmark project as a jumping off point to showcase your Kunin® Creativity and create a fun accessory to encourage kids to read.
